  • Thailand develops green agriculture
    2 May 2013 BANGKOK (Bernama) -- Thailand, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, is developing "green agriculture", to bring about and sustain the country's environmental-friendly farming, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.The move was part of national attempts to cope with the deteriorating problem of global warming or climate change.Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister YukolLimlamthong, in his speech at the opening ceremony of Thailand Green Livestocks Expo 2013 here Thursday, stressed the need for Thai farming sector to be prepared for agricultural challenges in several aspects.Those aspects include growing impacts of climate change, increasing use of arable farmlands for plantations of crops for alternative energy production and more complicated trade barriers.
